The Physical Education Department in Northfield School and Sports College undoubtedly makes a wide-ranging and significant contribution towards the fulfilment of the whole school.
It aims to provide a satisfying and balanced programme wherein lies the opportunity for all students to develop physical, social, emotional and cognitive skills in an enjoyable manner. The curriculum provides a range of experiences that meet the needs of the individual students and encourages active involvement of all whether as performers, observers or officials.
The sports college specialism is about much more than Physical Education and talented sports players. We aim to use this specialism to develop the ethos of sport, including the values of teamwork, leadership, fair play and being part of a wider world and community. It is also about a healthy lifestyle and the importance of taking care of yourself.
We apply those special values of sport across our school so students achieve high standards in all their subjects and develop as good citizens. We expect high standards of behaviour and appearance, and we build relationships based on trust and respect.
