Year 10 Mock Interviews at St James’ Park

On 23 May 2018, a group of year 10 students travelled to St James’ Park in Newcastle on Wednesday to take part in a series of mock interviews as part of the ‘Employability Skills’ programme that we have been running throughout the year.The event was organised by Esh Group plc and included over 60 business panels and thousands of students from schools across the north east.Our students did a fantastic job and impressed the interviewers with their maturity and calmness throughout what can be a very stressful process. Be Strong Online Ambassadors

The Be Strong Online Ambassador Training Days are all-day events in which young people will be trained as Be Strong Online Ambassadors. These students will go on to run online safety campaigns, sessions and assemblies in your school to help their peers increase their digital resilience. The training events provide a great opportunity to meet and share ideas with passionate staff, professionals and young people from schools, academies and organisations in your local area. Sporting Success at the Stockton Games

Northfield students competed well at the Stockton games, in particular finishing 1st in the Boys u13 Volleyball + u13 Cycling and 2nd in the Girls u13 cycling. The cycling teams now compete at the Tees Valley finals. All students really enjoyed the day. Primary STEM Event

On Tuesday 24th April, Northfield School hosted a Primary STEM event for Y6 students from local primary schools. The schools that attended were Petland Primary School, Roseberry Primary School, Wolviston Primary School, Oakdene Primary School, Billingham South Primary School, The Glebe Primary School and St Joseph’s Primary school. Teesside Student Librarian Awards 2018

On Tuesday 24th April students from Northfield School, along with parents and staff, attended the 19th annual Student Librarian Awards Ceremony, which was held at St. Hild’s Church of England School in Hartlepool. This year 19 of Northfield students have completed either the Student Librarian Training Scheme or Advanced Student Librarian Training Scheme and were invited to receive their certificates, presented by bestselling children’s author Dan Smith at the awards ceremony.The training scheme is unique to the Teesside area and has received recognition from the National Literacy Trust.
