Sporting success at the Stockton Schools Cross Country Event
Northfield School competed at the Stockton Schools Cross Country event at Preston Park on Thursday 7th December. Indoor Athletics Successes
Well done to the year 7 and year 8 boys indoor athletics teams who both finished second at the secondary school competition on Tuesday 21 November at Durham University. They have qualified for the Tees Valley event in January. Well done to the year 8 girls team who finished 5th and the year 7 girls who finished 6th.All pupils were a credit to the school.
Two Year 7 braille users have been trialling new state of the art, specialist equipment that has arrived in school this week. Maddy and Alfie have been getting to grips with the braille-note touch, which allows them to read and write braille electronically. The device allows students to research online, download apps and produce word documents in braille. Work produced in lessons in braille can then be e-mailed or printed in text for teachers to read and mark. The students have already begun training with the school's specialist team for Visual Impairment and are looking forward to using the equipment...
Northfield Students Excel at Tees Valley Boccia Competition
Northfield School was represented by 10 year 7, 8 and 9 students today at the Tees Valley Boccia competition held at marsh house avenue sports centre. Boccia is a team sport and is a form of seated bowling. Students were in teams of 3 or 4 and split into 5 pools competing against 34 other teams. Lily, Jade and Kai were placed third in their pool. Christopher, Alfie, Brendon and Joshua were placed second in their pool. Class of 2017 Awards Evening
On Monday 6th November, Northfield invited students from the class of 2017 back to school to celebrate their examination success.At Northfield’s GCSE Certificate and Awards Evening, students arrived with family and reunited with school friends in the main school hall once more to celebrate their achievements over the last five years.Mr Walker reviewed the year’s achievements and highlighted the success stories of the class of 2017 and expressed his gratitude for the positive impact each student has had at Northfield School.
