Year 7 Inter-tutor Table Tennis Competition
Last week, all year seven tutor groups competed in the Year Seven Table Tennis Inter-tutor competition, ran by Mrs Durham in the Sportsdrome. All tutor groups had a team of four who competed individually in a number of matches, with winners going head to head. All pupils thoroughly enjoyed the event, getting very much into the competitive spirit. Ben Goodall was particularly impressive in terms of skill and enthusiasm.The final culminated in 7TF versus 7TO; both of these tutor groups were also very competitive in the football and rugby tournaments. 7TF were victorious in the final with the following pupils...
Year 11 Geography East Yorkshire coast trip
This weekend Year 11 geography students took part in a fieldtrip visiting several places of interest along the East Yorkshire coast. The group visited Robin Hood's Bay on Friday evening before staying overnight in Whitby Abbey House Youth Hostel. On Saturday the trip took in locations including Scarborough, Flambrough Head, and Hornsea studying coastal erosion and management schemes. The trip will be a great help to their preparations for their forthcoming GCSE exams in May.
Year 11 Art Exam
Today year 11 began their final 10 hour Art examination piece after 8 weeks of developing ideas, experimenting with techniques and planning an independent final outcome. The range of ideas and images is broad as students have taken the opportunity to explore concepts and ideas that are more personal and related to their interests and aspirations. We’re all looking forward to seeing the results of their hard labours exhibited in the summer show in the school hall in July. Well done, Year 11!
Year 11 Dance Production: The Fault in Our Stars
ACT 1 is a production based on the popular book/movie about 16 year old Hazel who suffers from stage 4 thyroid cancer; it tells the story of love, trust and sadness.This production is an assessed coursework project which constitutes 25% of the students' final grade in Dance.Act 2 is a celebration of dance at Northfield School.Click here for the Full Poster
Northfield School Student Competes in National Lifesaving Speed Championships
Dominic Munns competed at the National Lifesaving Speed Championships on Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th March at the Olympic pool in Stratford, London, where he achieved personal best times in all of his events.He was placed 7th in the country, in the 100 metre mannequin rescue with fins and 8th in the 50 metre mannequin carry.
