Solar Eclipse 2015

On Friday 20th March parts of the northern hemisphere will be privileged to witness a rare solar eclipse.This will not be a total eclipse for us (approximately 93% in Billingham) however we should still observe some exciting effects. Accelerated Reader - Word Count Milestone

Today, 11 March 2015, our Year 7 and Year 8 students reached a milestone figure for the amount of words read this school year, on Accelerated Reader.The Accelerated Reader system counts every word, from every book that students read and quiz on. This is then all added together to give us a combined total for Year 7 and Year 8.This total, today reached an astonishing 100,000,000 words!A massive well done to all our students for contributing to this total, it is a fantastic achievement.

World Book Day Quiz 2015 – Thursday 5th March – Stockton Central Library

Two teams of Northfield students took up the challenge of Stockton Libraries second annual World Book Day Quiz. They competed in the quiz on World Book Day against teams from other local Secondary Schools. The quiz was made up of 5 rounds with all questions relating to popular children’s and young adult books including a picture round, TV and film, heroes and villains, general knowledge and a bonus round!
