Northfield Says Goodbye to the Year 11 Students
Five years after welcoming them through the doors of Northfield, the class of 2016/17 saw their final in-school celebration with a fantastic Leaver’s Assembly on Tuesday 27th of June. A large and exuberant gathering of Year 11 students were impeccably behaved throughout the two-hour triumph of their time at the school.
Awards were presented for students with 100% attendance, high achievement points and in recognition of individual’s effort and commitment to their own curriculum subjects. The presentation of photos on film from Year 7 onwards drew the usual howls of laughter at their younger selves, but also pride in their achievements throughout the course of their time at Northfield. Some may say the show was stolen by Mr Taggart’s small acoustic set, but credit must go to Mrs Charlton and Mrs Harvey for organising much of the event. However, the real stars were the students and the end saw the traditional shirt signing session with a real array of emotions as they left the school grounds for the last time as a year group.
Now we move onto Prom on Monday 3rd July at Wynyard Hall, which promises to be another fantastic occasion.
