Year 7 Church Service at St Cuthbert's
On Wednesday 17th December Year Seven attended our fifth annual Church Service at St Cuthbert’s Church in Billingham. We were treated to moving performances by the Northfield Soloists (including Paige Capper, Ellena Cornforth and Erin Smith) of 'Where are you Christmas?' and 'White Christmas'. All students sang beautifuly and were praised by Mr Walker. The Sign Language club, including Naomi Palmer, Tia Donaldson and Sarah Howsden, performed a British Sign Language version of Silent Night which was performed faultlessly by all. Additionally, there were beautiful flute and saxophone performances from Year Elevens. Christmas Carols were sung well by Year Sevens, including ‘O Little Town of Bethlehem’ and ‘Once in Royal’s David’s City.’ The service was rounded off by readings from Mr Tattersall, Beth Reilly (Head Prefect), Declan Bullock and Amelia Smith, which brought home the real reason we celebrate Christmas.
All of Year Seven thoroughly enjoyed the service, with some pupils commenting that they particularly enjoyed the Sign Language version of Silent Night and the Soloists. Mr Tattersall, Head of Year Seven, commented: “Year Seven continue to impress and uphold the fantastic reputation that Northfield School has in our community. I sincerely hope that all our Year Sevens have a joyous Christmas time, however they may be celebrating.”
