Active Schools Conference 2019

Thank you to colleagues from over forty Stockton Primary Schools who joined us for the SSP Active Schools Conference on Jan 25th 2019. The conference was designed to support schools on their journey to embrace the concept, ethos and actions of an Active School to benefit their students and staff in terms of physical and mental health & wellbeing.

We were delighted to be joined by Deborah Merrett, Chief Adviser, from Education Improvement and Neil McAvoy , Deputy Headteacher, from Clavering Primary School in Hartlepool. Clavering are currently in their second academic year of delivering their Active School strategy and have been successful in incorporating 30 minutes of physical activity in their school day for every child. They also offer a vast number of extra-curricular opportunities, promote active travel and ensure that every child represents the school in a sports team at some point in their time at Clavering.

Please see below copies of some of the presentations from the conference and contact details for colleagues who joined us for the marketplace.
