🎭✨ In February, Imogen, a Year 9 Northfield pupil, went to audition at Nottingham Playhouse to join the National Youth Theatre. Imogen was successful and has been offered a place on the Newcastle Course this summer and after which, she will become a full member of the National Youth Theatre until the age of 25. 👏🎉 National Youth Theatre empowers young people to tell stories and find their voices on leading stages, screens and behind the scenes. For nearly 70 years we have equipped young people with toolkits to realise their creative potentials, from Helen Mirren and Daniel Craig to Regé-Jean Page, Ed Sheeran and Florence Pugh. 🌍🎬 www.nyt.org.uk/about-us 💬 “Going into the audition I felt nervous but once it started, I enjoyed the experience. 🏉 Year 9 Rugby Success 🏉 Alongside our Year 8 success in the County Cup Finals this week, our Year 9 team also reached the final on Monday at Mowden Park Stadium in Darlington. The team competed in a hard-fought game against a strong side in High Tunstall. They showed great determination and work rate throughout, but just lacked that final bit of quality in the second half to secure the win. 📚 Library Round-Up – April: ‘Everybody Can Be a Reader’ At Northfield, we want every pupil to discover a love of reading 💙 This month, our focus has been on graphic novels and comics — a genre that is sometimes overlooked but growing rapidly in popularity. Recent reports show that sales of graphic novels are at an all-time high, and a survey by the National Literacy Trust found that 40.7% of children and young people enjoy reading them at least once a month 📈 To support this, we have added 50 new graphic novels to the school library, all now on display and available to borrow 📖✨ 🎨 Get Involved! We are also running a creative competition for pupils to design their own characters and comic strips — perfect for fans of the genre and budding artists! Year 8 Rugby Success 🏉 Yesterday, the Year 8 rugby team travelled to Mowden Park Stadium in Darlington to compete in the County Cup Final against Red House School. The team demonstrated our school’s core values throughout, in what was an incredible first half — with both sides locked at 6 tries each at half-time 🔥 In the second half, Northfield stepped it up, playing a fast-paced and physical brand of rugby to secure an outstanding 13–8 victory and bring the trophy home 🏆 This is the first time the cup has been won since 2007 (Billingham Campus), making this achievement even more special. 📚🌍 Year 11 Geography Revision 🌍📚 Our Year 11 pupils are making a fantastic effort preparing for their upcoming GCSEs 💪🧠 An incredible 65 pupils attended a revision session on Saturday (10am–2pm), focusing on the critical knowledge needed for their Geography Paper 1 exam 🗺️✍️ They were absolutely brilliant and worked extremely hard throughout 👏🌟 They also managed to demolish a mountain of Domino’s pizza, crisps, pop and sweets 🍕🥤🍬😄 📅 Their next Geography session, focusing on Paper 2, will take place on Saturday 30th May (10am–2pm) 💻 Pupils can also join us on Teams at 5pm every Tuesday for Teatime Geography, as well as attend Thursday afterschool intervention in Room 210 We are really impressed with their progress and attitude, and are confident it will be reflected in their GCSE results 🌟📈 #Year11 #GCSEPrep #GeographyRevision #NorthfieldProud #TeamNorthfield #HardWorkPaysOff #ExamReady

🎭 Northfield Theatre Company Presents: Little Shop of Horrors 🌱✨ Our recent production of Little Shop of Horrors was an absolute joy from start to finish — and we couldn’t be prouder of everyone involved! 👏 Packed with catchy songs, quirky characters, and dark humour, this much-loved musical even brought the challenge of a man-eating plant to life 🌿😱 — and our cast and crew handled it brilliantly! From Seymour’s awkward charm to Audrey’s warmth and sincerity, every performance was filled with confidence, personality, and talent 🌟 A huge congratulations to our cast for their dedication throughout rehearsals and performances.
