🎉📚 Attendance Matters – The Last Push! 📚🎉 We're nearly there everyone, let's keep the momentum up!! 💪🙌 We have plenty planned for next week so keep attending! ⭐🏫 As usual, we have our Rewards Assemblies 🏆 with Amazon 🎁 and Just Eat 🍔 vouchers, as well as 100% Attendance Certificates 📜. We also have Full House Friday 🎯, our Silver Ticket prizes 🎟️ and the renowned Golden Ticket draw ✨🎫 on the last day of term. On top of all this, for pupils who are in school Tuesday, we will be facilitating our very own Northfield Football World Cup! ⚽🏆 The Year 7s will play the Year 8s on the 4G 🥅 and the Year 9s will verse the Year 10s on the MUGA. Both will be excellent matches, on par with the performances on display currently in the USA! 🌍⚽🇺🇸 On Wednesday, we will be handing out sweets 🍬🍭 to all our pupils who have attended Monday to Wednesday. 😋 On Thursday, we welcome back the Harrogate Ice Cream Van 🍦🚐 for pupils who have attended Monday to Thursday. On Friday, we will be giving out FREE sweets 🍬 for all via the canteen, including lollies 🍭, ice cream 🍦 and ice pops 🧊. 🇫🇷✨ Normandy Trip – Deadline Extended ✨🇫🇷 The deadline to submit the deposit for the Normandy Trip next academic year has been extended to Tuesday 14th July. ⏳📅 The trip is open to all Year 9 pupils who have opted for French in Year 10 and is taking place from 2nd to the 5th July 2027. 🇫🇷🚌 The trip will be an immersive language experience, where pupils will be speaking French with native speakers for the majority of the trip, as well as receiving some structured lesson input linked to their GCSE course. 🗣️📚 We plan on a tour of a chocolate factory 🍫, a tour of Boulogne 🏖️ and a high ropes course 🌲, all delivered in French, alongside many other fun activities! 🎉 We also plan on visiting a local market 🛍️ where we will be challenging pupils to buy certain items for our picnic lunch 🥖🧀, a real-life scenario that they could encounter in their GCSE Speaking Roleplay Task. 🎓💬 📧 Please can all parents of pupils who are opting for French in Year 10 check their emails, and if you have any queries please email amartin@northfieldssc.org. #Northfield #NormandyTrip #French #ModernForeignLanguages #GCSEFrench #LearningBeyondTheClassroom #EducationalVisits #LanguageLearning #TeamNorthfield #Year9

🥾🏞️ Year 9 Geography Fieldwork – Lake District 🌿📚 This week, over 160 Year 9 pupils had the opportunity to visit the spectacular landscape of the Lake District. 🌄✨ We visited Keswick, completing fieldwork investigating the impact of tourism in the area. 🗺️📊 Also, sampling the fish and chips 🍟🐟 and ice cream! 🍦😋 Pupils experienced the stunning Lake District scenery with a 4-mile walk 🚶‍♂️🚶‍♀️ around part of Derwent Water, followed by a boat ride 🚤 back to Keswick. 🌊 All pupils were excellent and a pleasure to share this fantastic area with. 👏⭐ We are incredibly proud of how they represented Northfield throughout the trip. 💙 #Northfield #Geography #Fieldwork #LakeDistrict #Keswick #DerwentWater #LearningBeyondTheClassroom #OutdoorLearning #GCSEGeography #PupilSuccess #TeamNorthfield

🏅👏 Sports Leaders Supporting the School Sports Partnership Awards 👏🏅 On Tuesday 7th July, some of our Sports Leaders were asked to help out at the School Sports Partnership Awards Afternoon held at the Billingham Synthonia Suites. 🤝🎉 They welcomed both pupils and parents to the event and ensured all who attended had a brilliant time. 🌟 A special mention to Halle and Alaina, who opened the event by speaking to everyone about the fantastic work the School Sports Partnership does for sport in the area, as well as sharing their own experiences of being Sports Leaders throughout the year. 🎤👏 Luke Symington, an ex-Northfield pupil, was the guest speaker and presented the awards to the winners. 🏆 He gave a fantastic speech about his own personal journey into sport and the success he has had, and continues to have, in cricket with the aim of earning a professional contract with Durham CCC. 🏏⭐ He also spoke about how Northfield's core values of Respect, Resilience and Honesty have helped him throughout his cricketing journey. 💙 A special congratulations to Mia and Amelia, who were presented with the Sports Leader of the Year award. 🏅👏 What a fantastic achievement! 🎭✨ Expressions of Interest – Shakespeare Schools Theatre Festival 2027 ✨🎭 We're hoping to enter Northfield School into the Shakespeare Schools Theatre Festival in March 2027! 🌟📖 This is a national theatre festival, where we will rehearse and perform an abridged version of a Shakespeare play (around 20 minutes) live at Durham Gala Theatre 🎭. 🏅🎉 School Sports Week – Day 1 🎉🏅 What a first day of celebrating National School Sports Week! 💪⚽🏃 Year 10 pupils enjoyed Softball 🥎, Futsal ⚽, Tennis 🎾 and American Football 🏈. Yesterday afternoon, our Year 7s had their turn. 🌟 Several pupils had the exciting opportunity of visiting Billingham Synthonia Bowls Club to participate in a Lawn Bowls tutorial with the local experts. 🎯 A second group journeyed to Sedgefield Squash Club to experience Squash 🥍 and learn some new skills. Pupil feedback was brilliant and they absolutely loved the experience! 😄👏 In school, the remaining pupils had the option of sampling Futsal ⚽, Parkour 🤸, American Football 🏈, Ultimate Frisbee 🥏 and Rounders 🏏.
