📱☀️ iPad Summer Care Advice ☀️📱 As we approach the summer break, we wanted to advise on how best to keep your child's iPad safe over the summer holidays. 🌞📚 📱 Case It is vitally important to keep the iPad in its case to reduce the risk of damage and any claim being invalidated. 🛡️ If you have your own case, this needs to be ruggedised to provide the correct level of protection. 🔍 Lost Device In the unlikely event that the device becomes lost, please contact the school and the device will be placed in Lost Mode. Alternatively, if you have an Apple ID, you can select 'Find My iPad' to help locate it. 📍🍎 🔧 Accidental Damage If any accidental damage occurs, it must be submitted as a claim within two weeks of the event taking place. 🇬🇧🎭 London Trip – Day 1 🎭🇬🇧 What a fulfilled day we’ve had! 🤩✨ We kicked off in Covent Garden 🛍️🎭 for some shopping and street performers. Then stepped into the glamour of the Kit Kat Club for an immersive performance of Cabaret. ✨🎶 Refuelled with pizza at Pizza Hut 🍕😋 And finished with a feel-good trip to Ancient Greece, watching Hercules in the West End. 💪⚡🎭 Followed by a leisurely walk along the River Thames 🌉✨ to get back to the hotel. Water Safety Awareness at School At the end of June, our pupils took part in an important Water Safety Assembly focused on the dangers of open water and how to stay safe this summer. With the recent tragedy of the deaths of two men at Seaton Carew, it is a timely reminder to share. With over 300 accidental drownings in the UK every year, many of them during the warmer months, it's vital that young people understand the risks and know what to do in an emergency. During the session, students learned about the FLOAT to Live technique from the RNLI: F – Fight your instinct to swim L – Lean back and float O – Open your body and keep calm A – Angle yourself to safety T – Take your time, then call for help or swim to safety Remember: If you are caught in a rip current, don't try to swim directly back to shore against it. Stay calm, Float to Live, then swim parallel to the shore until you are free of the current before making your way back to the beach. If you can't swim to safety, float and signal for help. 🇫🇷✨ Normandy Trip – Deadline Extended ✨🇫🇷 The deadline to submit the deposit for the Normandy Trip next academic year has been extended to Tuesday 14th July. ⏳📅 The trip is open to all Year 9 pupils who have opted for French in Year 10 and is taking place from 2nd to the 5th July 2027. 🇫🇷🚌 The trip will be an immersive language experience, where pupils will be speaking French with native speakers for the majority of the trip, as well as receiving some structured lesson input linked to their GCSE course. 🗣️📚 We plan on a tour of a chocolate factory 🍫, a tour of Boulogne 🏖️ and a high ropes course 🌲, all delivered in French, alongside many other fun activities! 🎉 We also plan on visiting a local market 🛍️ where we will be challenging pupils to buy certain items for our picnic lunch 🥖🧀, a real-life scenario that they could encounter in their GCSE Speaking Roleplay Task. 🎓💬 📧 Please can all parents of pupils who are opting for French in Year 10 check their emails, and if you have any queries please email amartin@northfieldssc.org. #Northfield #NormandyTrip #French #ModernForeignLanguages #GCSEFrench #LearningBeyondTheClassroom #EducationalVisits #LanguageLearning #TeamNorthfield #Year9
