Only 5 days to go until our Year 11 Mock Exams begin! ⏰📝
Remember Year 11, we have lots of revision sessions available after school to help boost your knowledge in specific subjects. 📖💪
For next week, we also have Morning Warm-Up sessions for all Year 11 pupils! 🌅 These sessions will help get your minds working in the subject area — whether that’s reviewing key formulas in Maths, definitions in Geography or structure in Science. 🧠✨
🥐 Morning Warm-Ups
📍 Pupils should arrive through Main Reception at 7:45am, where breakfast will be available, including:

🧀 Cheesy bagels
🥓 Bacon sandwiches
Pupils will then make their own way to the warm-up session for the first exam of the day. 📝

🛡️Pol-Ed | Keeping Children Safe | Knife Crime Information for Parents and Carers
Knife crime is an important topic within our safeguarding curriculum, and we appreciate your support in discussing this important issue at home.
⚖️ What does the law say?
It is illegal to carry a knife, blade, sharply pointed item or any offensive weapon in a public place without a valid reason. Carrying something for “protection” is not a legal defence.
👨👩👧 What can Parents/Carers do?
If you are concerned that your child may be carrying a knife, experiencing exploitation or feeling unsafe, try to stay calm and talk to them openly.
You can also seek advice from:
🏫 Your child’s school or safeguarding lead
🤝 Youth workers
📞 Local support services
🚨 If there is an immediate risk to a child’s safety, contact the police on 999.

🏅 Sporting Leadership | Sports Leaders 🏅
On Tuesday 29th September, some of our Northfield Sports Leaders attended the Stockton Schools Leadership Academy training day! 💪🏃♀️🏃♂️
During the morning, pupils learned about the skills needed to be a successful Sports Leader, as well as how to organise and run sporting competitions. 🏆📋
In the afternoon, they were joined by 150 primary school children for a team-building event! 🤝✨ Our Sports Leaders ran an activity, delivering it to seven groups of pupils throughout the afternoon.
It was a fantastic opportunity for our pupils to develop their leadership, communication and teamwork skills — and although it was an enjoyable day, it was certainly a tiring one! 😴👏

🌊📍 Year 11 Geography Fieldwork – Redcar 📍🌊
Last week, our Year 11 pupils carried out Geography Fieldwork in Redcar, investigating how groynes affect coastal processes. 🌊🪵
Pupils were excellent in very mixed weather conditions. 🌦️👏
They used a number of fieldwork techniques, which prepares pupils for GCSE Geography. 📚📝
They also applied their learning from the classroom to understand their findings, bringing geography to life through real-world investigation. 🌍✨

🤸♀️🌟 Sporting Success – Gymnastics 🌟🤸♀️
A huge well done to Year 10 pupil Lexi, who this weekend competed at the Regional Classic Challenge Competition in Newcastle. 👏🏅
This competition was hugely important, as the top 6 gymnasts qualify to represent the North at the National Finals in November. 🇬🇧✨
Despite suffering a nasty fall on the bars, Lexi showed incredible resilience and determination by getting back up and completing her routine. 💙💪
She then composed herself for the Beam, where she won a Gold Medal! 🥇
Lexi finished 5th overall, securing her place at the National Finals. 🎉🤩

📚🍂 Library Round Up – September: New Beginnings 🍂📚
September is full of New Beginnings 🌟 and it's a great time to start your reading journey. We've loved welcoming all of our Year 7 pupils to the library for their induction and helping them find their very first reading book of the year. 📖💙
This month's displays have included Transition, featuring a selection of stories about starting school and navigating big life changes—perfect for any pupils settling into a new chapter. 🎒✨
Our Roald Dahl Story Day display has also been incredibly popular with Year 7, with almost all copies of his books now out on loan! 🍫🦊
We also created a display for World Kid Lit Month 🌍📚, bringing together literature from around the world to help broaden pupils' horizons and discover different cultures.
Finally, don't forget our Peter Burns display! 🕵️ Any pupils wanting to dive into the Shadow Thieves series can borrow a copy from the school library.
