Restart a Heart Day
BackToday our Year 7 pupils took part in CPR training!
The Restart a Heart campaign aims to give pupils the skills and confidence they need to step if they witness a cardiac arrest.
CPR and Defibrillator Training
Paramedics from North East Ambulance Service delivered training in the hall using CPR dummies, explaining the ways they would deal with someone in cardiac arrest and what they should do if they ever find someone in that situation.
The pupils were also given demonstrations on using defibrillators and how they work.
The ability to restart a heart is incredibly important and saves thousands of lives every year.
The year 7 pupils were all excellent, and were keen to learn. Whilst we hope they never have to use their new skills, we are very sure that they are capable.
A big thank you to Alex who came in from North East Ambulance Service to provide the training and support our pupils.
